What is LED Light Therapy?

Have you ever heard of LED Light Therapy? What is it, and why is it beneficial to your skin?
"LED stands for Light Emitting Diode, which is a computer chip encased in a glass-like resin, which emits therapeutic wavelengths (or colors) of light energy," (Steven Marchese, product developer for LightStim).  LED is the only aesthetic device that has no contraindications of any kind. It is good for all skin types, colors and conditions. It is safe for the eyes and it cannot be overused.
The LED light emit special wave lengths of light that penetrate the skin. Each specially calibrated light comes in colors, Blue, Amber, Light red, Dark red, an Infrared. These lights go into different levels of the skin each producing different health benefits.
Some of the benefits of LED light therapy are:
~ Minimizes the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines
~ Clear blemishes and minimize pores that are visible.
~ Helps kill the bacteria that causes acne.
~ Helps heal the skin after acne flair ups or surgeries.
~ Improves the overall tone and texture of your skin.
~ Stimulates the production of elastin and collagen.
~ Decreases the appearance of scarring, redness, and dry patches.
~ Reduces the effects of sun damage to your skin.
~ Reduces the appearance of brown spots (hyperpigmentation) by targeting melanin.
~ Increases the overall circulation of your skin.
~ Increases the moisture balance of the skin.
~ Helps healing strained muscles and tissue

The LED's used for professional treatments, are medical grade LED lights each containing a specific chip. Beware of the lights no sold in a professional environment. These may just be a pretty colorful LED light in a pretty holder. Always check with your therapist.

Why are these products called "Rare"?

When talking to our guest about Hale & Hush skin care products, we sometimes get this question: "Why are the Rare Mandelic, Rare Retinol, and Race C Serum called "Rare"?  Lets see if this explanation helps. All three are specially made for sensitive skin. The type of vitamin C used is unique as it also helps with the appearance of pore size. The rare retinal serum uses retinaldehyde which works better on sensitive skin than the other forms of vitamin A, and also helps with glycation. (Glycation is a major cause of cellular and molecular damage that occurs with aging. It is a chemical process where a sugar molecule attaches to a protein or lipid. This contributes to wrinkles, discoloration, and loss of firmness). The mandelic used is 8% mandelic with a mixture of hyaluronic, vitamin C, enzymes and lactic to not cause any irritation on sensitive skin like other mandelic serums may cause. Professional Skin Care Academy carries a complete line of the Hale & Hush pr...
