Electrolysis...This is not Laser Hair Removal

Electrolysis is a technique where individual hairs are removed from the face or body by destroying the follicle that the hair grows in. Today's medical electrolysis devices use a very fine probe that is inserted into the hair follicle, and a small amount of current is introduced to the follicle. This causes a chemical reaction at the base of the shaft which releases the hair from the root. The hair is then easily removed with tweezers. After a few sessions the follicle will be unable to produce any future growth.
Most areas of the body can be treated with electrolysis, including the brows, face, tummy, chest, back, and legs to name a few. There are generally no permanent side effects, but sometimes a temporary, slight reddening of the skin may occur.
There are many factors that influence hair growth, so you will need to have several treatments for it to become permanently gone. It is important to plan and follow your therapist suggested treatment schedule. Not adhering to the schedule could add additional treatments and cost to achieve that final success. Most treatments are once a week to once every 4 weeks until the series is complete. Different areas have different schedules. Each treatment last 15 minutes to 1 hour.
Your therapist should use needle electrolysis, which is the only permanent form of hair removal.  Some clinics may advertise that they offer electrolysis but use electronic tweezers or photoepilators. These are not a permanent solution. There are electrolysis devices available for home use, but they are often unsafe for use by anyone who is not trained in electrolysis.
Advantages of Electrolysis:
*It is permanent! It is the ONLY FDA-approved method of permanent hair removal.
*According to the American Electrology Association, it is effective for people of all skin types and skin colors, hair type and hair color.
*No recovery time. You can resume your daily activities immediately  after the procedure.
*No harsh chemicals: Unlike with laser hair removal or hair bleaching, electrolysis does not require the use of chemicals on the skin.
Chemical depilatories (liquids or creams) are often used to remove body hair. These products contain irritating chemicals and can be time-consuming,messy and harmful to the skin. Bleaches contain harsh chemicals and do little to disguise dark hair. They may also discolor skin. Waxing is another temporary method of hair removal. A hot wax is applied to the skin and removed once it has cooled. The hair is stripped off when the wax is removed. Waxing can be painful and costly. Home waxing kits are available, but they can be messy and difficult to use.
It is important to get a consultation before you start. When you go to your consultation, look around. Does the place and the workers look clean?  Do they use disposable gloves and needles? Ask to meet the person who will be performing the electrolysis. If you are not comfortable with somebody, look for someone else to do the procedure. Personal comfort is essential to knowing you have made the right choice.

Why are these products called "Rare"?

When talking to our guest about Hale & Hush skin care products, we sometimes get this question: "Why are the Rare Mandelic, Rare Retinol, and Race C Serum called "Rare"?  Lets see if this explanation helps. All three are specially made for sensitive skin. The type of vitamin C used is unique as it also helps with the appearance of pore size. The rare retinal serum uses retinaldehyde which works better on sensitive skin than the other forms of vitamin A, and also helps with glycation. (Glycation is a major cause of cellular and molecular damage that occurs with aging. It is a chemical process where a sugar molecule attaches to a protein or lipid. This contributes to wrinkles, discoloration, and loss of firmness). The mandelic used is 8% mandelic with a mixture of hyaluronic, vitamin C, enzymes and lactic to not cause any irritation on sensitive skin like other mandelic serums may cause. Professional Skin Care Academy carries a complete line of the Hale & Hush pr...
